    • Lovely location as you drive up the road and your ears starts to go as you climb the mountain to the yurt. The yurt was cosy and clean, plenty of plug sockets to charge your phones etc. Log cabin had all kitchen items you would need and bathroom was clean. It’s so quiet, great escape away from the hustle and bustle! There’s a Spar shop in Cynwyd that’s down the road If you need. Nathan the host was great always replied and very helpful . We didn’t get a clear night sky when we were there but I imagine it would be great as there’s no light pollution. Just be mindful this time of year the views are slightly blocked by the blooming trees and bushes ! Highly recommend, thanks Nathan !

    • This was our first experience staying in a yurt and it was amazing! The Yurt was absolutely stunning, with a beautifully decorated interior, cozy wood burner and lots of quirky cushions and dream catchers.

The location was also very beautiful. We felt very close to nature and loved walking around the grounds. It was snowing during our stay so seemed even more magical! Rich, who was looking after the place, asked if we wanted to stay a bit longer to avoid driving in the snow. Unfortunately we couldn’t but it was a very kind offer!

You have everything you need to be able to cook in the kitchen, which is kept tidy and clean. The kitchen and bathroom is close by and the shower is nice and warm!

I’d definitely recommend staying here, we couldn’t have had a nicer stay!

    • We had the absolute pleasure of running our first official retreat at Ty Mam Mawr and what an experience it was! Shayne and Nathan, who own this beautiful space, are the most helpful and gracious owners. From start to finish they assisted us wherever we needed, from frequent phone calls on the lead up to the retreat, to providing recipes and even cooking our whole group a delicious meal on the last night x Shayne and Nathan what you have created together is absolutely awe inspiring and I cannot recommend this place enough to others. Mickey and I will be back for sure and I know we have made friends for life in Shayne and Nathan. So much love to you both ♥️ ♥️ ♥️

    • The perfect place for couples fancying a romantic getaway or groups wanting exclusive use of the site. We travelled as a couple with two dogs and Nathan was more than accommodating for us all. An excellent host and very focussed on ensuring we had an enjoyable stay. On the first morning the pipes had frozen due to the snow resulting in the shower not being in use, but Nathan was apologetic and offered for us to shower in his home whilst he fixes the outdoor shower. He made sure the shower was up and running a few hours later so this caused no inconvenience whatsoever.

We enjoyed a lovely walk through the forest and the local town which was a mile down the road. There are a couple of pubs there which we never went in but seemed quiet and welcoming. Nathan lent us an OS map so we were able to navigate our way through the forest and along the river which made for a very enjoyable walk.

We can't wait to return again with our family in summer and take advantage of the decking area for BBQs and hopefully much nicer weather!!

    • Just back from a fabulous three day break in the Welsh mountains at one of the most unique airbnb properties we have ever stayed in.

The location was excellent, being conveniently placed to access most of North Wales abd the yurt was everything that we expected, and yes, while we were in fact living off the grid, Shayne and Nathan made sure that the whole experience was extremely comfortable with plenty of hot showers and great kitchen facilities (and even wifi if you just have to keep in touch with the outside world but much better to leave technology behind and enjoy a more natural way of living)

The yurt itself is a work of art and with the stove burning bright, a wonderful place to be on a winters night under what seemed to be a million stars.

Highly recommended and hope to come back and share again Shayne and Nathan's unique way of life. Communication was prompt, directions accurate and check in was easy.

      You won't be disappointed.
