We were greeted by Shayne who was very attentive and made us feel at home. The yurt is lovely, just exactly what you expect, with nice views. What we really enjoyed was the birdsong, a range of finches but also woodpeckers, cuckoo and even a sighting of a sparrowhawk. There are some resident Pheasant families that will keep you amused for hours. Considering this is off grid it didn't feel like it in that electricity and wifi were good, the kitchen facilities spotless and the shower I have to say was beautifully hot and exceeded expectations when you consider everything is generated on site.
The location is high in the hills but a perfect base for travelling out. We went to Bala, Pwllheli, Rhyl, Chirk, Chester and Llangollen all in the space of a weekend and still had plenty of time left to chill out.
And for those worried about warmth in a yurt don't be. We did have a warm weekend but we still lit the woodburner in the evening, it is amazingly simple to use and gives a really satisfying warmth at bed time. read less
