We have just returned from a very peaceful few days in the yurt. The outdoor firepit was fantastic and we enjoyed foraging for some wood in the forest (logs also available to purchase). Our fire was rained off on our second night (we managed to cook our burgers on it first) but the covered porch meant we could remain outside in nature with our music playing and a nice rum to keep us warm.
The yurt is spacious with a comfortable bed. The yurt warms up quickly with the log burner. We didn't leave the area on our first 2 days, choosing to walk in the forest, which is on your doorstep.
Day 3 we ventured out to Ruthin, the Gaol is an interest place to visit.
The rain was heavy so we decided to try a Sunday lunch in the Cynwyd local pub, the Blue Lion. The food was delicious and there was a friendly atmosphere in the pub. We then holed up in the cozy yurt and played games for the evening.
Definitely a place to visit for peace and relaxation in nature. ?

Friendly and welcoming hosts, very knowledgeable about the area with great walking route tips (and friendly dogs who might want to join you!). The hosts are very respectful of you being on a quiet, eco-friendly holiday. It was cosy and peaceful in the little yurt for me and my best mate. Comfy beds for both and fleece blankets available to sit on the porch on colder evenings. The log burner is so effective and the view from the porch tranquil. We loved the hammock seats outside. The decor really adds to the relaxing vibe with wall hangings and ambient lighting. Kitchen facilities really are top notch too. It's an impressive off grid system and as eco friendly as possible too.
Beautiful and welcoming place, amazing walks all around. Perfect weekend away from noisy towns and concrete jungles.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes from Shayne and the two dogs. We were shown around the place and made to feel at home instantly. The location is beautiful and the place is a 10/10 and we would highly reccomened this place for all ages, who enjoy the outdoors and an area of outstanding natural scenery. Inside the Yurt is incredible and the small log burner keeps the place warm throughout the night along with a very comfy memory foam mattress! Overall we had an exceptional time at Shayne and Nathans incredible place and have already planned to return in the near future. Thanks again for a wonderful stay, John & Llinos.

We had an amazing time, the yurt is incredibly cozy, warm and homely (smells great too!)

Me and my partner both argree that this is the nicest place we've stay so far, the entire atmosphere they've created there is beautiful.

Both of Shayne and Nathan are very welcoming and a joy to be around, which meant at no point did we feel like we're 'just' hiring the yurt from them for a few days. It's honestly felt like we'd be there for a lot longer.

We couldn't of asked for more.

I had the most incredible stay at Ty Mam Mawr - Shayne and Nathan were such warm and generous hosts. A group of us booked out the site for a meditation retreat and it was the perfect setting to allow for such work to take place. Gorgeous scenery, beautiful, cosy yurts to stay in, a nearby waterfall that we walked down to and swam in! Adorable friendly pets - dogs and chickens! - that roamed around, sweetly interacting with us. And the site is clearly a labour of love - these stunning, eco-friendly structures. Oh and I mustn't forget Shayne's generous catering, covering both vegan and gluten free. I can't wait to come back and visit at a different time of year - see what that stunning scenery, with all its colour, what that looks like in different light. Getting to know Shayne and Nathan was delightful too. Cooking, meditation and deep conversation with Shayne, as well as sitting by the fire pit, with the almost full moon hanging over the hillside, chatting about life, the universe and everything with Nathan are all special memories. Thank you so much for creating such a blissful place for us to come and explore. Hope to see you all again soon! xx
